Set in the 1500s, the film tells the story of the legendary love between two young people of different religions, one the son of a Khan and the other the daughter of a Monk, and aims to show what true love can do. Neither Mahmut's dynasty nor Meryem's circle allows the two to be together and live this love to the fullest. But those who understand that they cannot easily separate Mahmut from Meryem find a solution in bloody solutions...
The film stars Aras Bulut İynemli and Eva Dedova, and is directed by Mehmet Ada Öztekin, a very strong screenwriter. Adapted from the novel of the same name by Azerbaijani author Elchin Efendiyev, the film's cast includes many Azeri actors and technical names.
